Your work around yes although it does create duplicates is a great one, although my IMAP creates duplicates and triplicates of everything anyway for some reason but it acts like one Microsoft should listen to its users. It helped me with notifications as well after 4.5 update! Check This Out
Priority Inbox puts messages it deems "important" up at the top (based on who sent the email, among other factors), so you always see those first. I have no doubt it is possibly the design as opposed to the setup. May be its just a Gmail issue. Iwasreally wondering why I didn't get the messages I expected, well I thoughapparentlydid, but outlook didn't tell :( Using two imap accounts; good to see that when you delete a message It only works on the standard incoming folder but not on the IMAP folders. I mean this is a pretty major feature for a mail program. When you use "large" icons, you should see the Outlook icon change (so I've read) to indicate new email. Contact support. Even these emails from the discussion I cannot receive.. The Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums folders are turned OFF by default and have to be manually configured, both in turning them on AND setting a ringtone. any updates for this???
